For VP Total Rewards, Heads of Benefits, CPOs, and benefits consultants

Give employees somewhere to turn when a loved one’s Medicare care changes.

The gap families feel immediately

An employee may have strong health and caregiving benefits and still find themselves alone when a parent or spouse receives a Medicare notice with a short deadline. Petohmi is built for that specific moment.

Why now

The workforce is aging, and more employees are caregivers. They meet Medicare care interruptions where the appeal window can be extremely short.

Medicare is also changing how denials move. For Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and Marketplace plans, federal rules now require faster prior-authorization decisions and a specific reason for every denial, and by January 1, 2027 those plans must open standardized data channels for patients and providers. The moment a family is most likely to need help, a denial or a care interruption on a short clock, is getting faster and more data-rich at the same time. Petohmi helps the family read the notice, find the deadline, and prepare the next step. (Original Medicare’s fast-appeal path runs under separate rules and is not changed by these requirements.)

What Petohmi is

Petohmi is an employer-sponsored specialty family benefit that helps employees get ready for and work through Medicare care interruptions affecting someone they care about. The employer purchases year-round access to specialized support.

Petohmi stays focused on Medicare care interruption: getting ready before a problem, making sense of an active notice, preparing the next step, and keeping track of what happens. It is not plan sales, retirement planning, or broad caregiving.

The goal: the employee understands what changed, knows what matters now, and has a clear next step instead of carrying the whole situation alone.

Support without a sales agenda

Employer-funded. No carrier commissions. No Medicare plan sales. Petohmi does not make money by steering a family toward an insurance product. The service is there to help the employee understand and work through the situation in front of them.

What this benefit is worth

The value of this benefit is availability, specialized support, privacy, resolution quality, and real value to your employee and their family. It is year-round access to help when Medicare interrupts a loved one’s care.

How the benefit’s performance is measured

Employees can self-activate without a workforce roster. Employer reporting is designed around aggregate, de-identified measures such as awareness, use, the type of interruption, whether a deadline was recognized, progress toward resolution, and whether the person felt clearer about what to do next. Individual cases and documents are not part of employer reporting.

How Petohmi fits alongside what you may already have

General caregiving platforms

Broadly support family caregiving across many situations. Petohmi remains specifically focused on Medicare Care Interruption.

General healthcare navigation

Broadly assists people with healthcare and benefit navigation. Petohmi focuses on Medicare-covered care affecting an employee’s parent, spouse, or authorized loved one.

Patient advocacy

Some advocacy services begin with identified records and clinical context. Petohmi lets a person start with very little information and add a Medicare notice when that makes the process easier.

Category-level descriptions only; not a claim about any specific company’s capabilities.

What Petohmi does, and does not do

Petohmi helps people understand, organize, prepare, navigate, and track the appropriate Medicare administrative pathway. It does not practice medicine or determine medical necessity, provide legal representation, act as Medicare/CMS or adjudicate appeals, guarantee an appeal result or continued coverage, or sell or steer users toward Medicare insurance products. Petohmi does not replace qualified professionals or official Medicare review bodies.

Specialized support, accountable research

Our development roadmap connects privacy-aware beneficiary support to source-attributed market research and a governed knowledge custody model. Research and analytics are in validation; no unmeasured benefit performance is presented as established results.
